Have fun learning German with songs. The Kinderchor (Childrens choir) sings traditional songs in German and open to all students in 2nd - 6th grades. Please see flyer for details and to register.

Laternenfest - November 5th

Please join us for Laternenfest on November 5th starting at 6:30 pm. The German tradition of Laternenfest honors the soldier Martin, who is remembered for his good deeds and compassion towards others.

We will gather at school to hear the story of Martin, sing traditional songs and walk with our lanterns through the neighborhood. We will reassemble back at OHES for warm Kinderpunsch and treats! Click here for flyer.

Please RSVP by 20 October to ensure lantern supplies can be provided to children in advance and that refreshments are available for all.

Help us say Thank You to the staff! We would like to provide each staff with an apple and caramel dip to welcome fall. Please sign up here to donate. Donations will be needed by Sunday October 24th so we can have it ready for the staff on Tuesday, October 26th. Walk/Bike to School Day October 6, 2021

Hello Orange Hunt Families! Help us bring awareness to the many students that walk and bike to school. Please go in and register under our school—Select Orange Hunt Elementary School in the dropdown. Let's see how many people we can get to sign up and Walk/Bike to school on October 6, 2021. Let's build momentum for safety by walking as a family, neighborhood, or school. If you normally drive, try to park and walk on that day. Thank you for all your help and support!

Reflections 2021

We are excited to invite all OHES students to participate in the PTA Reflections program by creating a piece of original artwork based on this year’s Reflections theme: I Will Change the World by...

The PTA Reflections program aims to help all students explore their thoughts, feelings and ideas while developing their artistic literacy and increasing their confidence. Students create original artwork inspired by their reflections on this year’s theme. Students may submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Participating in Reflections is easy and all students are encouraged to think about this year’s theme and use their imagination to create artwork to share with the Orange Hunt Elementary School community. Students’ artwork will be judged by a panel of volunteer judges and winning submissions for each category will be sent to the Fairfax County Council PTA to compete against students from throughout the county.

Student entries are due on 20 October. We’re still working out the details on how you will submit your student’s artwork and will let you know how to do so as soon as possible. In the meantime, please share this year’s theme with your children and encourage them to start thinking about the amazing art they are going to create!
