Reflections 2021

We are excited to invite all OHES students to participate in the PTA Reflections program by creating a piece of original artwork based on this year’s Reflections theme: I Will Change the World by... 

The PTA Reflections program aims to help all students explore their thoughts, feelings and ideas while developing their artistic literacy and increasing their confidence. Students create original artwork inspired by their reflections on this year’s theme. Students may submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Participating in Reflections is easy and all students are encouraged to think about this year’s theme and use their imagination to create artwork to share with the Orange Hunt Elementary School community. Students’ artwork will be judged by a panel of volunteer judges and winning submissions for each category will be sent to the Fairfax County Council PTA to compete against students from throughout the county. 

Student entries are due on 20 October. We’re still working out the details on how you will submit your student’s artwork and will let you know how to do so as soon as possible. In the meantime, please share this year’s theme with your children and encourage them to start thinking about the amazing art they are going to create! After School Club Volunteers Needed

We have several after school clubs lined up, but parent volunteers are needed in order to offer them. The following volunteers are needed:

Girls on the Run Monday and Tuesday 3:30-4:30 Outdoor Field Parent Sponsor Needed

RunfitKidz  Wednesday and Thursday 3:45-4:35 Outdoor Field Parent Sponsor Needed

Hip Hop Tuesday 3:35-4:35 Cafeteria Parent Sponsor Needed

Sport Mix Friday 3:35-4:35 Outdoor Field Parent Sponsor Needed

Chess Club Friday 3:30-4:30 Cafeteria Parent Sponsor Needed

OSA Martial Arts Fundraiser

OSA Martial Arts is  offering a 4 week program for Orange Hunt students at a discounted rate of $60 (for the entire 4 weeks).  The program will be held at OSA and will begin September 27th. All proceeds will go to the PTA.  Click here for more details and application.

RunFit Kidz Registration Open Now

RunFit Kidz is the only running program in the area taught by certified fitness professionals. Our non-competitive program is a wonderful place where kids are encouraged to strive for their own personal goals, be active with friends and build confidence. Our fall program includes the following:
-Open to boys and girls - ages 7-15. (Have an interested child outside this age range? -contact us at corky@runfitkidz.com)
-Games, activities, and drills to bring running concepts alive.
Registration is on a First Come First Serve basis – so register early!
-8 weeks for 1hr 15min per session.
-We will offer two afternoon sessions:
Wednesday’s starting Sept. 22nd from 3:35 – 4:50PM.
Thursday’s starting Sept. 23rd from 3:35 – 4:50PM.
-5K Celebration Run is Sunday, Nov. 14th at Fairfax Corner.
-$99 includes training with a nationally certified coach, entry into the chip timed 5K, milestone tokens, commemorative RFK t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and post-5K festivities.

PTA meetings will be held virtually the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm, with the exception of December and March, on the following dates:

  • September 22
  • October 20
  • November 17
  • January 19
  • February 16
  • April 20
  • May 18
  • June 15

Everyone is welcome! You do not have to be a member to attend meetings, but we encourage you to join the PTA.

Our final PTA meeting will be held on May 20th at 7:00pm via BB Collaborate. Elections for next year's board will be held at this meeting. All are welcome to attend.
