Laternenfest 2020

Please join us in celebrating Laternenfest.  Even though we can't be together in person this year we encourage you to build your own lanterns as a family.  Check out Herr Krawczak's video describing Martins day and the PTA's video on how to make the lantern. You can find instructions on how to make a lantern here.

We do have some of the electric tea lights and sticks that you can borrow if you are unable to find these at home.  Please email President@orangehuntpta.org to arrange pick up.

Panera Fundraiser - Tuesday, November 10th

Reflections Deadline Extended

Participating in Reflections is easy--all your children need to do is reflect on this year’s theme to find inspiration and then create a piece of original artwork to share with the Orange Hunt Elementary School community. Students may submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Students’ artwork will be judged by a panel of volunteer judges and winning submissions for each category will be sent to the Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) to compete against students from throughout the county. 

The deadline has been extended and student entries are now due on 16 October. There will be two steps for submitting your children’s entries this year. First, you will need to fill out your child’s official entry form, which has been provided by the FCCPTA. After you submit that form, you will be directed to a page acknowledging your submission; this page includes a Dropbox link--please click that link and submit a photograph or video of your child’s artwork. Please be sure the name of the file you enter in the official entry form matches the name of the file you upload to the Dropbox link.

Support the PTA - Join and Hoot's Heroes

At the September PTA meeting the 2020-2021 PTA Budget was approved.  In order to support the needs of the staff and students we need your help.  Please consider becoming a PTA member and donating to our Hoots Heroes fundraiser.  This will be the only fundraiser we do this year and we have a goal of raising $8,000.
