We are very excited to be offering RunFit Kidz this fall! While this season may not mirror exactly what our RFK families have come to know and love - rest assured that not matter if you choose in-person, zoom or even your own "pod" training that you will receive the best in the business coaching, a great workout and the camaraderie of teammates that we are all craving. Here are the Class Options we will offer this Fall:
Option 1: In-Person - location Cottontail Swim & Racquet Club - Cottontail Ct, Springfield, VA - see website for exact days/times. And Capital Baptist - 3504 Gallows Road, Annandale, VA 22003
Option 2: Zoom Virtual - see website for exact days/times.
Option 3: Your group - Your location. In this climate we know many friends/families are creating their own "Pods". If you would like to create your own group we can come to you or meet at a mutually agreed upon location or provide a Zoom session. Hoot's Heroes - OHES PTA Fundraiser

Hoot's Heroes is our easy, no-stress, no selling fundraiser for the PTA. Donations from our OHES families each year help fund numerous programs, activities and materials for our school. Yard Sign Sale

Show your Owl spirit with a yard sign! Yard signs measure 24" wide by 18" tall, includes a one sided print and stakes. Each sign is $10. We hope to receive the yard signs before the start of school so pre-orders will only run through noon on Friday, August 14, 2020. Given the PTA spending rules, we are only able to purchase 150 yard signs at this time. This is within the amount that was approved at the May meeting to be used for spiritwear and other summer expenses before a 20-21 PTA budget is approved. If there is additional interest we will sell them again once we have an approved budget at the end of September.
Return to School Selection Deadline Extended to July 15th

FCPS has extended the deadline for parents to choose how they want their children to return to school this fall for the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. Responses are due no later than Wednesday, July 15. Additionally, Dr. Brabrand announced that he will ask the School Board to delay the start of school until after Labor Day, which will be Tuesday, September 8. Barnes and Noble Virtual Book Fair - Corrected Code

Unfortunately, we are unable to do our Barnes and Noble bookfair in person this year, but are offering a virtual online bookfair to allow families to buy some books while supporting the reading program at Orange Hunt.
Barnes and Noble is open from 12 – 6:30 on Sundays and 11-6 on weekdays. You can also shop online. For both in store and online, give the number 12596987 at check out and Orange Hunt will get a percentage of the sale, for the period 6/7 – 6/14.

Pohick Library Summer Reading Program

This year the library's summer reading will be virtual. All materials and signup will go live on June 12, see the Summer Reading Libguide for details. Our YouTube channel will have our virtual book talks posted as well as a link to our Summer Reading Libguide. This year looks quite a bit different for our Summer Reading Adventure. It is completely digital and instead of coupon books, when they meet the various milestones they get entered in for a chance to win an Amazon gift card. Instead of a reading log, this year we have game boards. They can either read a book for each entry, complete the task on the game board, or some combination of the two. We hope it is engaging and fun for them!
