Fall Chess Club Registration Now Open

The Orange Hunt Chess Club is now enrolling for fall session.  The club is open to all students from 2nd through 6th grade. Fall Chess Club will start Friday, September 7th, in the school cafeteria through December 21st on Fridays from 3:30 PM to 4:45PM. See flyer for details or click here to register online.

There are many kinds of positions - many can be done from home and do not require that you attend PTA meetings. Some are ongoing, others are for a single event.

Safety Reminder

The area around our school gets very congested at the beginning and the end of the day, but we all need to make sure to follow the laws when walking and driving in order to keep our community safe. A few reminders:

- Use a designated crosswalk when coming to and from school. It is dangerous to cross Sydenstricker in front of the school especially during pickup and dropoff.
- Do not park in the no parking zone along Huntsman.
- Follow posted speed limits.

If you see unsafe behavior (speeding, not yielding to pedestrians, jaywalking, etc.), get as much information about the person or vehicle (description, car make, model and license) and call the police non-emergency line at 703-691-2131 or contact the PTA safety committee at safety@orangehuntpta.org. FCPS ACE Summer Camps

Spring Fundraiser - Hoots Heroes

The Hoots Heroes fundraiser is kicking off its second half! 144 OHES Families participated in our Fall Fundraiser, and now we only need $9,000 to continue our activities for the rest of the year.

This fundraiser is fun and unique because we are not selling anything! If we meet our goal, it will be the ONLY fundraiser for the remainder of the year!

International Children's Day and Maifest

The 2nd Annual International Children's Day and Maifest will be held on May 4th from 6-8pm. Please join us on March 20th immediately following the PTA meeting in the OHES cafeteria to plan for this event. Spring Break Camp: Language/Culture/Cooking
