Amending the Bylaws

Two Sections of our PTA Bylaws need to be amended to allow some of our officers and committee chairs to serve for multiple years. The proposed amendments are:

Spring Break World Language Camp

Spring Break Camp will be offered at the Plum Center from March 26-29th. Students will be introduced to Spanish, French, Chinese and German through hands on activities and cooking experiences. See flyer for more information and registration.

Spring Box Top Collection

It's Spring Box Top Collection time. Please cut out and send in those box tops to earn easy money for our school. Just cut out your box tops, place them in a baggie with your teacher's name on it and turn them into the front office or to your teacher. The spring cut off date is February 25th. Please help support our school and send them in!

Glory Days Fundraiser

When you dine at any Glory Days Grill from Feb. 1 - Apr. 30, they will contribute 10% of the total food and beverages purchased to the Orange Hunt Elementary School PTA fundraiser. Bring your friends, family and neighbors! Simply ask your server for the itemized copy of your guest check receipt (not the charge card receipt), and give it to a PTA member or drop it in the collection box at the school. GLOBAL PLUS is a world language program offering high quality language classes to elementary students, and thereby captures the optimal time in a child’s life to learn a new language.

This 10 week afterschool language program teaches world languages through culture, stories, games, and songs. Students develop vocabulary and communicative skills using Smartboard technology and hands on activities.

Tuesdays beginning Jan 23 - German for Kindergarten and Spanish for Grades 4th - 6th

Wednesdays beginning Jan 24th - German for Grades 1st – 3rd and Spanish for Grades 1st – 3rd

FCCPTA Advocacy Day December 4th

FCCPTA is hosting its first ever Advocacy Day event just for you as a PTA member! It is scheduled for Monday, December 4 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM at the Gatehouse Center located at 8115 Gatehouse Road in Falls Church. This FREE event, YOUR event, is designed to provide you the great opportunity to meet, engage, and build relationships with your local elected officials on the Fairfax County School Board and Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Most of your local elected officials will be in attendance and want to hear your stories about your schools and students.
