2023-24 Reflections Program
6/15/2023 6:10 pm
The theme for 2023-2024 is “I am hopeful because…”
Students in Pre-K through grade 12, and a special artist division are invited to create theme-based artwork in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography or visual arts. This competition encourages students to explore the arts and express themselves by providing positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Since it was founded in 1969 by Mary Lou Anderson, millions of students have benefited from this program.
Volunteers Needed for 2023-24
5/26/2023 4:31 pm
The PTA is looking for volunteers for the 2023-2024 school year. We have several openings and desperately need individuals to help make next year as much of a success as this year.
Current volunteer opportunities that are top priority for the PTA are as follows:
Membership - Chairperson registers PTA members, collects dues and keeps records of membership in order to pay county and state PTA dues.
Girls On The Run (GOTR) and Girls On Track (GOT) - Chair(s) coordinate and run the after-school character building and fitness program using the GOTR curriculum. Reserve fields & indoor space for practices, attend GOTR trainings, attend and run practices (2x/week), communicate with parents, attend the 5K, plan end of season party. Fall and/or spring classes are offered.
The lack of volunteers this year has added tremendous pressure on the few individuals who have given time and resources to support our school. Without additional volunteers from the community, the PTA will not be able to continue sponsoring most of the events held this year. All interested individuals should contact president@orangehuntpta.org for further information regarding positions. Planning for the 2023-2024 school year is currently underway and the PTA is excited to sponsor many more fun activities and events for our students and staff!

Staff Appreciation Week March 27-31
2/17/2023 9:58 pm
A few years ago the PTA, in conjunction with the school, decided to celebrate Staff Appreciation in March. Traditionally Teacher Appreciation week is in May. However, we found that May is already jam packed with testing, end-of-the-year events, and families involved in many outside activities. Moving this tradition to March allows us to recognize the hard work and dedication of our OHES staff at a point in the year when we all actually have time and can enjoy the celebration.
This year we will be celebrating OHES Staff Appreciation Week March 27-31. We are asking each OHES family to make a small donation (you choose the amount that works for your family) so the PTA can purchase gifts and food to give to the staff throughout the week. It’s super simple and the PTA does all the work. We won’t ask for other donations or individual teacher gifts during this week. This allows us to celebrate all the staff throughout the week. Some of the items we have done in prior years are t-shirts, pennants, breakfast burritos, popcorn, custard, and personalized M&Ms.Thank you for your contributions and helping us to support and celebrate our teachers.
