Girls on the Run (GOTR)

Girls on the Run is coming to Orange Hunt ES this spring, and we need YOU! In order to enter the future with confidence, kids need leaders they can follow, and that's where GOTR coaches step in. You do not need to be a runner to coach; you just simply need the heart to empower students to be the best version of themselves. Stem exCEL Winter 2023 Registration

There are more slots available in the STEM exCEL winter 2023 after school activities. Come join us Mondays for our Comic book illustration class or Tuesdays for Electronics with Minecraft Redstone. See flyer for details. Registration is open and seats will fill up quickly!

Dance-a-thon Friday, February 10th

It's time for the OHES PTA Dance-a-thon and the theme is GLOW! Register your student to get a t-shirt with an OHES logo and then...YOU GET TO DECORATE IT YOURSELF! Prices include the t-shirt (lower price if you don't wish to buy the shirt), beverages, snacks/cookies, a photo area, and GLOW STICKS! Siblings and parents are welcome to join in on the fun too for only $5! It will take place on Friday, February 10th in two groups: 

Session 1: 5:00 PM to 5:45 PM for K-2nd

Session 2: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for 3-6th

Cost:

Session + t-shirt $15
Session only (no t-shirt) $10
Siblings: $5 (does not include t-shirt)

T-shirt sales close Feb. 3rd.

Sixth Grade Party Chair Needed

Girls on the Run - Volunteers Needed

Girls on the run is interested in launching a Girls on the Run team this spring at Orange Hunt. Our unique SEL-focused programming creatively blends physical activity in the form of running, preparing participants for a celebratory 5K at the end of their GOTR season. In order to launch this program, we need volunteers to organize a group for the spring. If interested, please reach out to LeAnn Bartenhagen at president@orangehuntpta.org.

Spelling Bee - January 24

The Orange Hunt spelling bee will be held on January 24th at 6 pm in the Orange Hunt cafeteria. The winner of the Orange Hunt bee will be eligible to participate in the 2023 Fairfax County spelling bee on March 19th. In order for the Orange Hunt bee to be, the PTA needs five individuals, three to act as official judges, one to act as record keeper, and one to act as the official pronouncer. Volunteers will need to complete official spelling bee training provided by Scripps. Girl Scout Troop 52141 Clothing Drive

Girl Scout Troop 52141, a Daisy troop with students of Orange Hunt, is sponsoring a clothing drive for the children of Ukraine. They are collecting new or excellent condition hats, scarves, gloves, coats and boots until Nov. 14th through a donation box in the OHES lobby.
