Girls on the Run Registration Now Open

Girls on the Run is coming to Orange Hunt! GOTR is a physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. The program teaches life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment, while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Our program has been adapted to ensure physical distancing and safety. In-person practices include safety, sanitizing, and physical distancing precautions and modifications.

Starting the week of March 6th, the team will meet every Wednesday and Friday after school. The program culminates in a celebratory 5K at the end of the season! The standard program fee is $185 and includes 20 lessons/practices, a t-shirt, water bottle, entry into the 5K, a 5K medal, and more.

Financial assistance is available for anyone who needs it, with the lowest program registration cost being $22 for the season. Registration begins on February 6th at https://www.gotrnova.org/3rd-5th-grade-program-details.

RunFit Kidz Spring Registration Opens Feb. 13th

Are you ready to run? Learn about nutrition and proper running technique by joining the Orange Hunt RunFit Kidz Team! The Orange Hunt PTA is excited to offer RunFit Kidz this spring. Classes will be held after-school on Wednesdays AND Thursdays beginning the week of March 20th. OHES PTA Skate Night Feb. 25

Where: Fairfax Ice Arena

Cost: $13.75 with skate rental/$9.75 without skate
Rink will be just for our students, staff/faculty, family members and friends! Let’s skate before winter is over!

OHES PTA 2023-24 Nominating Committee/Officers

The PTA is looking for three volunteers to form a nominating committee to complete the 2023-2024 PTA Board slate. If you are interested in helping out with this please email Leann at President@orangehuntpta.org.

They will be looking to fill the following positions.

President: Responsible for presiding over all PTA meetings, coordinate the work of officers and committees, and other duties as necessary

1st Vice President: Shall assist the President in all duties and oversee the school support Committees

2nd Vice President: Shall coordinate event planning and oversee the ways and means committees

3rd Vice President: Responsible for PTA communications

Treasurer: Have custody of all funds and finances of the PTA, keep a full and accurate record of all receipts and expenditures, present a financial statement at each PTA meeting, File tax forms.

Recording Secretary: Record the minutes at the PTA meetings

Girls on the Run is coming to Orange Hunt ES this spring, and we need YOU! In order to enter the future with confidence, kids need leaders they can follow, and that's where GOTR coaches step in. You do not need to be a runner to coach; you just simply need the heart to empower students to be the best version of themselves. Dance-a-thon Friday, February 10th

It's time for the OHES PTA Dance-a-thon and the theme is GLOW! Register your student to get a t-shirt with an OHES logo and then...YOU GET TO DECORATE IT YOURSELF! Prices include the t-shirt (lower price if you don't wish to buy the shirt), beverages, snacks/cookies, a photo area, and GLOW STICKS! Siblings and parents are welcome to join in on the fun too for only $5! It will take place on Friday, February 10th in two groups: 

Session 1: 5:00 PM to 5:45 PM for K-2nd

Session 2: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for 3-6th

Cost:

Session + t-shirt $15
Session only (no t-shirt) $10
Siblings: $5 (does not include t-shirt)

T-shirt sales close Feb. 3rd.

Sixth Grade Party Chair Needed

Girls on the Run - Volunteers Needed

Girls on the run is interested in launching a Girls on the Run team this spring at Orange Hunt. Our unique SEL-focused programming creatively blends physical activity in the form of running, preparing participants for a celebratory 5K at the end of their GOTR season.
